The Paradise has officially received its censor certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification, with an A rating and a final runtime of 174.04 minutes. The certificate, numbered DIL/3/44/2026-HYD and dated September 21, 2026, was issued by the CBFC’s Hyderabad regional office.
The CBFC has listed 21 separate insertions, excisions and modifications the makers were required to carry out before certification.
Some of the key changes include
- A disclaimer was inserted at the beginning of the film.
- Visuals of a crow on the national flag were replaced with alternate visuals.
- The word “Umpudugathe” was muted at 8:22.
- Visuals featuring a pregnant woman were modified at 9:45.
- A foul word was limited to a single use, with all other instances muted.
- A tattoo bearing a foul word was covered using CG or modified visuals.
- The term “denotified tribe” was removed from the dialogue.
- The duration of a violent stabbing visual at 28:43 was reduced.
- Foul words were deleted at 46:00 and 1:16:30.
- A dialogue at 1:00:24 was deleted entirely.
- Blood-spill and violent visuals were modified at multiple timestamps: 1:03:49, 1:08:08, 1:28:42, 1:32:34, 1:45:48, 1:46:00 and 1:46:13.
- Torture visuals were modified at 1:49:00.
- Further violent visuals were modified at 1:57:35 and 1:58:35.
- References to armed struggle against the country were modified or muted at 2:01:00, 2:04:26 and 2:05:19.
- Static statutory smoking warnings were inserted, and a cigarette brand name was deleted.
- The name of a politician was deleted from a subtitle.
- A newspaper reference was modified to read “Nagaramlo,” with place names covered using CG.
- A word was replaced with “TIDA.”
- A cigarette brand reference was muted.
- A reference to an assassination and fictionalised historical events was muted.
Taken together, these modifications paint a picture consistent with what Nani and Srikanth Odela have already said in their promotional interviews, a raw, violence-heavy, politically charged drama rooted in real social tension, which explains the heavy focus on toning down graphic violence, muting politically sensitive references, and softening depictions tied to a marginalised community. Total deletions at the time of examination came to just 00.25 minutes, with 01.25 minutes of replaced footage, a relatively light set of cuts for a film carrying this much intensity.
